Estimated Finite CPI

This report shows Estimated Finite CPI and Estimated Instruction Complexity CPI calculated from data from the SMF 113 records.

The values are shown with CPU Service by Service Class or Report Class information, so you can see how the values change with different workloads.

Report Information​

  • Estimated Finite CPI. Estimated Cycles Per Instruction resulting from a finite level 1 cache i.e. the cycles to source data from other cache levels or memory, per instruction.

  • Estimated Instruction Complexity CPI. Estimated Cycles Per Instruction if there was infinite level 1 processor cache i.e. the cycles per instruction attributable to complexity of the instructions being executed.
